Its a title you just have to sing, these nostalgic treats were a pleasure to paint right down to the details in the sugar granules.
As part of my Be Treatwise collection I painted the iconic Jubes, dsicovering along the way they have one of the highest sugar content levels. This aside, I hung the packet in my studio and painted the packet as I saw it.
The beauty of painting from life, not a photo, is the imperfect way in which your eyes see. I translate the packet to canvas with layers of smooth expressive brushstokes bringing this oversized packet of lollies to life.
These works are intended to draw attention to and poke a bit of fun at the somewhat pointless (tiny) health advice labels on the packet.
With sides painted and sealed with a gloss varnish, this canvas is ready to hang.
The painting continues to the sides of the canvas and is fitted with quality D-Rings meaning this painting is ready to hang.
